Livermore business owner Gary Sapp died early Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle collision on County Road 74E near Red Feather Lakes.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, Sapp was driving eastbound at about 7:20 a.m. with a fifth-wheel trailer loaded with trash in tow. Near milepost 3.5, the front of the trailer left the left edge of road and struck a large tree. That caused the truck Sapp was driving to also leave the road, crash through a barbed wire fence, and strike a second tree. The trailer separated from the truck, which rolled one and a half times before landing on its roof, according to the report filed by State Trooper Ben Simpson.
Sapp, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene. No cause for the accident has yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
Sapp owned several construction-related businesses in northern Larimer County, including A Plus Metal Roofing and Fences, Barns & Such. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and three grown children.
