Get ready for Colorado Gives Day

Colorado Gives Day, 24 hours of online philanthropy in support of the state’s nonprofit organizations, begins at midnight Tuesday, Dec. 6, at GivingFirst.org.

Donors can search the site for their favorite nonprofit and donate as little as $10 or as much as $10,000 online. They can also search for the type of charity they’d like to support or find an organization located near them. Just a few of the local nonprofits participating in Colorado Gives Day are the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Food Bank for Larimer County and the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program.

Denver’s Community First Foundation and FirstBank created the Colorado Gives initiative in 2010, with a goal of raising $1 million for Colorado-based nonprofits. That initial drive raised more than $8.7 million, with 100 percent going to more than 500 nonprofits in the state.
