Community Health Assessment begins with survey, series of forums seeking understanding Larimer County health, mental health needs

The Health District of Northern Larimer County is hosting public forums where people can share their thoughts, hopes and concerns about community health issues.

Feedback gathered at the forums will be used for research purposes only as the Health District seeks to better understand the health, and health care needs, of local residents.

Community Health Forums for the general public are scheduled for the following dates and locations:

Wednesday, Nov. 16, 6-7:30 p.m., Health District offices, 120 Bristlecone Drive, Fort Collins; Thursday, Nov. 17, 4-5 p.m., Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, Fort Collins; Thursday, Nov. 17, 6-8 p.m., The Family Center/La Familia, 309 Hickory St., Fort Collins (for Spanish-speaking community members).

Seating is limited, and reservations are required. Reservations are available by contacting Katherine Chu at the Health District, 970-224-5209, kchu@healthdistrict.org. Dinner and a small gift will be provided.

The Community Health Forums are part of the Community Health Assessment, which the Health District has performed every three years since 1995. The assessment also includes a random survey of Larimer County households that is currently underway. Information gathered during the Community Health Assessment helps guide the planning and design of programs and services at the Health District. It is also shared with other local organizations working on health-related issues.

The Health District is a public agency that provides residents of northern Larimer County with dental, mental health, preventive health and advance-care planning services, in addition to connecting people to more affordable prescription and health insurance options.
