State Rep. John Kefalas, D-Fort Collins, announced Aug. 20 that he will seek the State Senate District 14 seat, which covers the city of Fort Collins, in the 2012 election. The seat is now held by Sen. Bob Bacon, who is term-limited. Kefalas, who was first elected to the Colorado Legislature in 2006, is currently serving his third term representing House District 52.
In the Colorado House, Kefalas is a member of the Finance Committee and the ranking member of the Health and Environment Committee.
