Kemp leaves Wellington Town Board, applications due Nov. 8

The Wellington Town Board is seeking letters of interest from residents to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Trustee Reggie Kemp.

The board is scheduled to formally accept Kemp’s letter of resignation at its regular meeting on Oct. 23. Trustee Jack Brinkhoff said the resignation was for personal reasons.

Kemp was elected to the board in April, and the appointment will fill his unexpired term until the next regular election in April 2014.

To be considered for appointment to the Board of Trustees individuals must be registered voters who have resided within the Town of Wellington for at least 12 months. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest and qualifications prior to Nov. 8 to Mayor Travis Vieira, P0 Box 127, Wellington, CO 80549.

The Town Board meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at 7:30 p.m. The board intends to interview interested individuals and appoint someone to the vacant position at the meeting on Nov. 13, 2012

If the trustees cannot agree on a candidate, a special election will be held among the candidates who agree to run, according to Brinkhoff.
