Update: LCSO SWAT team mobilized for incident near Wellington schools

From Poudre Schools:
Good news. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has concluded its activity at Wellington Middle School and Eyestone Elementary School. The schools have resumed normal outdoor activities and are on a normal schedule for the remainder of the day.

Thank you for your understanding as we cooperated with law enforcement on this matter.

8:30 a.m. : A SWAT team staged early this morning near Bella’s Market in Wellington, and Poudre School District sent an email to parents advising them of the police activity.

From Poudre Schools:

As you may have heard, we currently have law enforcement on the grounds of the two schools, Eyestone Elementary and Wellington Middle. This activity is the result of an incident in the neighborhood overnight. Students are being kept inside the schools as a safety precaution while police wrap up this matter.

We do not believe that students are in any danger.

As more information becomes available, we will email parents. Please do not call the school as it is important for us to maintain a normal learning environment for our students. Thank you for your continued support of Poudre School District.
