Letter: Thanks to everyone who helped with Wellington's July 4th celebration

Editor:

Happy 4th of July to everyone who came out to enjoy the 4th of July in Wellington!

We had an amazing turn out, and I would like to take this time to thank all of our wonderful volunteers that help make this day possible! We could not hope to pull any of this off if it weren’t for al the help we get from people willing to give up part of their day to jump in where needed.

The day starts early with parade registration, judges for the parade, announcing the parade, and singing the national anthem. We have a number of people that return every year to help with these duties. After the parade, the balance of the day’s activities require almost as much help with running the ticket booth, cake walk, shuttle service, dirt drags, lawn mower races, tractor pull and, of course, the car show.

All of these activities take months of planning and coordination, and I couldn’t possibly name off everybody that plays a role in making this happen!

The Larimer County Sheriff also provides tons of support throughout the day, with additional deputies and cadets, so a very grateful thank you to them as well. The fireworks display put on by the Wellington Fire Department went off perfectly, and I can’t thank them enough for all of their support every 4th of July!
