Old Flowers Road Run to benefit Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department and Stove Prairie School

For the second year, the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department and Stove Prairie School will host a Family Run Day on Aug. 27 to raise money for both organizations. The event will include a 10-k run, 5-k run, 5-k walk and a kids’ mile run.

The school was at risk of being closed last year. With the Crystal Fire in April, the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department has significant expenses already this wildland season. Your participation in the 10-k run and/or any cash donations will be greatly appreciated. The run is capped at 100 participants, who will receive T-shirts donated by Healthy Kids Club.  Note: No strollers or dogs are allowed.

Course:

The course runs along a public road that goes through private properties. The beginning of the run goes through Stove Prairie Ranch. At the Steadman Ranch, participants in the 5-k run and walk will turn around. The 10-k runners will keep going through the Vannorsdel Ranch to the turnaround point at Sky Corral Ranch. There will be water available every 1.5 miles along the run route.
