Permanent repairs completed on Buckhorn Road

County Road 27 [Buckhorn Road] was heavily damaged in the flood of 2013. The damage encompassed over 10 miles of roadway and required the construction of four large box culverts, three new bridges and extensive repairs to one existing bridge.

The roadway has been under construction since 2014 to make the necessary repairs. Buckhorn’s the first major roadway to have permanent repairs completed since the flood. The roadway within the narrows has been open to traffic since December 24, 2014, when temporary repairs were completed. The project cost was $16.5 million.
