Quit-tobacco class with free nicotine replacement starts July 9

A new six-week Step Free from Tobacco class begins Wednesday, July 9, 6 p.m., at the Health District of Northern Larimer County, 120 Bristlecone Drive in Fort Collins.

The class lasts six weeks and includes free nicotine patches, gum or lozenges for up to three months. It is led by a master-level certified tobacco treatment specialist. Studies show that using nicotine replacement in combination with support or counseling offers the best rate of success for those attempting to quit tobacco.

The cost for residents of the Health District is $10-$100 per person, depending on income. Out-of-district residents pay $100. A “buddy discount” of 25 percent is available for district residents who enroll in the program with a friend or relative.
