Red Feather Lakes library update for March

Green eggs and ham indeed: Dr. Seuss is celebrating a posthumous birthday. Locally, Library Baby Time and Preschool Story Hour participants will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday a day early on Thursday, March 1, 10:30 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. respectively. Both weekly children’s programs include stories, rhymes and songs. Children 6 months to 24 months meet during the first session while preschool children over age 2 meet during the second session. Cat in the Hat and Sam I Am aficionados welcome.

The Onion recently reported that Einstein developed his general theory of relativity on paper because he was insufficiently intelligent to invent Microsoft Word. We’re one up on Einstein in offering Microsoft Word 101, a beginner introduction to the word processor. Sign-up required, as are basic computer skills (mouse, keyboard, etc.). Join us March 3, 1 to 2:30 p.m.; familiarity with relativity not required.

You’re probably aware that we offer a library events and announcement email list — distributing information about the library, library programming and other relevant information. We’ve now instituted a second email list that allows for the distribution of community information throughout the greater Red Feather Lakes area — information about upcoming, useful and interesting community events and dates. Digital Photography Interest Group: Saturday, March 24 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Interested individuals invited to attend.

Craft and Snack (K through grade 5) will be held Tuesday, March 20 from 3 to 4 p.m.

The March View and Discuss Classic Movie is a well-known classic in its genre, scary 50 years ago and intense now. Licensing doesn’t allow us to give you a title here (call 970-881-2664 and we’d be pleased to tell you) but otherwise we may say this is not your run-of-the-mill creature feature. One library user reported never looking at pea-pods quite the same again after a first viewing.
