Riedel seeking re-election as DA for Larimer, Jackson counties

Cliff Riedel announced Jan. 20 his intention to run for re-election for the position of District Attorney, Eighth Judicial District of Colorado, which is comprised of Larimer and Jackson counties in Colorado.

Riedel is a career prosecutor, having started his legal career as a prosecutor with the City of Arvada after his graduation from Colorado University Law School in 1979. He joined the Larimer County District Attorney’s Office in April of 1980 and was assigned to the District Attorney’s Office in Loveland. In 1985, Riedel was promoted to chief deputy and later became the chief trial attorney. He was elected District Attorney in 2012.

“I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as the District Attorney for the Eighth Judicial District and hope to continue my service for an additional four-year term,” said Riedel. “I am particularly gratified to enjoy widespread support for my tenure in office from my staff, the law enforcement community and defense attorneys as well. My office door will continue to be open for comments, criticism, questions and discussion. Delivering high quality criminal justice is a team effort.”
