Small acreage owners' workshop scheduled for Nov. 2

A workshop designed to assist owners of small acreages with everything from operating tractors to raising chickens is planned for Nov. 2.

The Extreme Makeover Small Acreage Workshop, to be held at Island Grove Regional Park Exhibition Building in Greeley is sponsored jointly by CSU Extension Service, Big Thompson, Fort Collins and West Greeley conservation districts and U.S.D.A. Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Topics include tractors 101, pasture land management, backyard chickens, weed identification and herbicide use, grass reseeding and grass species, manure management,and how to evaluate your feed. Participants can select the workshops they are most interested in. Each is led by an expert and will focus on the basics.
