Sustainable Living Association announces a wide variety of fun activities and entertainment for Earth Day Fort Collins

The Sustainable Living Association will host Earth Day Fort Collins on April 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gardens on Spring Creek, 2145 Centre Avenue, Fort Collins.

Earth Day Fort Collins will be a combination of activities and events for the entire family, featuring informational booths and displays, arts and crafts, live music, speakers, local food and a beer garden. This family focused event is free to the public though attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items for the Food Bank.

At Earth Day Fort Collins, Drive Electric Northern Colorado will be hosting a “Ride and Drive” event which will give people the opportunity to get behind the wheel of many of the plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) on the market today. The DENC is a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at facilitating the necessary coordination, educational outreach, local business involvement, and infrastructure needed to transform Northern Colorado into a model PEV deployment community.

In addition, The Northern Chapter of Associated Landscape Contractors Colorado will be donating their professional services and materials to construct a Sustainable Backyard at the Gardens on Spring Creek during Earth Day Fort Collins. Upon completion, the Sustainable Backyard will educate Gardens visitors about water conservation landscaping techniques, re-purposing of materials for landscape use and sustainable horticulture practices that homeowners can use in their own backyard.
