United Way of Larimer County announced July 29 its total local investment of more than $7.6 million, as well as a new process for engaging community stakeholders that transforms the way local organizations work together to create long-term, community-wide change.
The process is part of United Way’s rollout of the Community Impact Plan 2.0 and brings together more than 65 local organizations to collaboratively determine the best solutions for addressing poverty and increasing prosperity throughout Larimer County.
“United Way is committed to improving lives in Larimer County, and we continue to be able to do so because of the generosity of our community and our donors,” said Chuck Levine, United Way Board of Directors chair. “By engaging our partners in this new process, we will be able to show the community the value of collaboration when it comes to reducing poverty in Larimer County.”
Partners represent school districts, nonprofits, government agencies and community groups coming together to determine how best to solve some of the community’s most challenging issues related to poverty. Partners are committed to achieving the objectives outlined in United Way’s Plan, which has the larger goal of reducing poverty in half by 2025.
United Way is providing more than $6.8 million in the form of grant awards, program dollars and donor designations in the impact areas of education, income and health to nonprofit organizations in Larimer County. Of those funds, $2.5 million supports disaster recovery efforts and $2.2 million went directly to partners to drive change in the three key impact areas.
