Vicki Price featuring Joe Price- A Brand New Place

Vicki and Joe Price, a husband and wife blues duo, combine talents on this energetic crowd pleaser released on their own label, Blues Acres Productions. Fun and spunky guitar riffs that make you stomp your feet, bob your head, and smile explode right out of the gate and don’t quit until the album is done. Vicki’s powerful bluesy voice evokes an image of a woman in a 1920’s speakeasy singing her heart out. Songs that ruminate on being in love, “my man, he’s like a blanket of warm,” to losing in love flow alongside thoughts on the economic crisis with accessible lyrics that everyone can relate to. Joe’s mean slide guitar brings a touch of Hawaii and a clean beachy vibe to the album, especially on the last track, a lullaby that you’ll want to listen to while swaying in a hammock and drinking a cold beer. If you like upbeat, straightforward blues, you can’t go wrong with what the Prices are laying down. “I got more happy than I got sad,” Vicki wails on “Dancin’ Shoes,” demonstrating her love of life and commitment to fun- one listen will make you want to put yours on too.
