Waverly School reunion canceled

Ed and JoAnn Jaerger have announced that they will not be able to organize the Waverly School reunion this year.

“Due to the effects of aging and illness, we have decided to cancel the Waverly School Reunion this year,” they wrote in a postcard to the North Forty News.000 “It is with much sadness and regret that we have to do this.”

The Jaergers added that they would be willing to pass along the information if anyone would be interested in holding the event this year. If no one steps up to take over by July 1, they said they will donate all the money and supplies collected for the reunion to the Food Bank for Larimer County.

For more information, contact the Jaergers at 970-225-1614, or Charlie and Jane Wilkins, 970-484-0921, or Corky and Maxine Tamlin, 970-482-5819.

Waverly School was built in 1918 and served K-12 students until 1960, when the district was consolidated with Poudre School District. Waverly then served as an elementary school until it closed in 1992.
