Wellington flushing water lines

From the town’s website:

The Town of Wellington has been working to correct issues with an algae bloom that is impacting the taste of water in Wellington.

Although the water is safe to drink, the town is experiencing and correcting an issue with algae related to a well pump feeding the nano (filter) plant causing this plant to be shut down for 3-4 weeks. The nano plant was brought back online Aug. 27 and staff is in the process of flushing all the lines in town to correct the problem. The water system should be fully flushed by September 9.

To report issues with taste, call the Water Plant at 970-568-3021 or Mike Bean, Utilities Superintendent at 970-568-3021. We appreciate your reports of taste issues as this will assist staff in determining which lines may need to be flushed again or identify any that may have been missed.
