We’re about in the middle of the spring youth and adult seasons. Both kids and adults seem to be enjoying themselves and the nice weather we have had for games. Summer adult softball games begin the week of May 11. If you would like to play but don’t have a team, email us your contact information (recreation@townofwellington.com) and we will pass it on if a team contacts us and is in need of players.

Registration for summer adult co-ed soccer will be open through May 16. Games games will be played on Monday evenings. Get a team together and have some fun playing in our recreational league. The batting cages open May 5. Visit our website at www.townofwellington.com/recreation to see our daily promotions (i.e. free tokens). The batting cages will be open Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday noon-5 p.m. through May 31. June 2 through Aug. 10 the cages will be open weekdays 2-9 p.m. and weekends noon-5 p.m. Hours will scale back to Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Aug. 11-30.

We will have a one day double elimination dodgeball tournament on June 21. Register a team for $100 and get in shape, you bunch of ninnies.

Have you ever missed out on Recreation Department news? Create a user account in our registration system to receive email updates on registration periods. Unfortunately this only works if you actually read your e-mails. To date the only people getting e-mails directly downloaded into their brain are wearing tinfoil hats to avoid overload/short circuiting.

One other way to keep updated on recreation news and happenings is to like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/towrec. Even if you don’t participate in our activities, take advantage of the nice weather and get outside and do something active. Enjoy!
