I’m reminded of my first time voting. It was November 3, 1998, and I was a young student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Casting my first ballot felt empowering and a bit overwhelming – but it was a moment that showed me the importance of civic engagement, especially at the local level. That sense of duty and responsibility has stayed with me ever since.
In the 2024 primary, our region faces crucial decisions that could shape our community for years. From key local measures to the candidates who will represent our interests, every vote in this primary mattered. To help keep you informed with the results, this week, we published an article, “Fort Collins Election Results 2024: Key Wins, Local Measures, and Impact on the Community,” which dives into what this primary meant for Fort Collins and Northern Colorado.
You can read the full article at Fort Collins Election Results 2024, where we discuss the most critical issues and explore what’s at stake for our region.
My experience as a first-time voter showed me that each vote carries weight, and together, they shape our community’s future. I encourage everyone to get informed and involved (even after the votes are final). Let your voice be heard!
Politics aside, living in Northern Colorado is terrific because there are so many things to do and other things going on!
That’s why, in this week’s edition, North Forty News has also included stories about upcoming events, another about active bears (releasing on our website on 11/10/24), and a comprehensive calendar of hundreds of other events.
When it comes to putting this weekly edition together, there are so many stories we can’t include them all. I work tirelessly (daily) to write and share the most relevant ones and focus on content that connects communities in Northern Colorado.
If you’re not reading it already — be sure to check out our weekly digital e-edition. It’s designed to inform in a single place every week.
And anyone can subscribe for Free!
I maintain North Forty News on a strict budget while working full-time to help manage the store at Bomgaars in Loveland. Farming and ranching are also two of my passions. Every day, I interact with people who love Northern Colorado as much as I do at the store and through North Forty News.
