NEW NIGHTCLUB, FUSION, SEEKS TO BRING FITNESS, DANCE AND CLUBBING OPTIONS TO PATRONS

by DAWN DUNCAN

Fort Collins just took another step into being a grown up, real city. Welcome Fusion, a brand new nightclub and fitness hotspot on the ever-evolving, booming Linden Street, opening this month at 351 Linden. Housed next door to Old Town Athletic Club, this sleek space is a quaint and sophisticated spot for dancing, cocktails, and socializing, with a look and feel that speaks to the “beyond college” demographic. In a college town, nightclubbing can be a tricky feat, as most venues target very young audiences in terms of the vibe, music, and drink options. Fusion is focusing on bringing new options to the masses, with 4,200 square feet of finished space of upscale interior and furnishings, plus unique, higher end offerings.

Co-owners Kevin Byrd and Gretel Balmer will offer fitness classes (Zumba, hip hop dance, including the new Mixxedfit hip hop routines) Monday through Thursday in the mornings and afternoons until 7:30 pm, and then convert the space to a nightclub atmosphere Wednesday through Saturday for the evening hours. Balmer shared her vision for Fusion by stating, “Personally I am most excited about creating a place that will bring people together to dance and socialize and allow guests to leave their world for a while in order to destress, build relationships, and reconnect with having fun!” Fusion will offer specialty events and programming and Wednesday nights will be “Latin Night.” Happy Hour, lively jazz music, DJ’s, and party hits are all on the list of programming staples and Fusion will occasionally host live bands.

“Our goal is to make Fusion a premier, high energy nightclub and dance fitness studio, featuring the hottest Zumba and hip hop classes in Northern Colorado. Fort Collins needs a place like this!” Balmer commented. She added, “We want to an exceptional experience that will bring enthusiastic guests back for more. Fusion will be that upscale club that will create a sense of sophistication, belonging, and escape for locals and tourists alike.”

Fusion is also hoping to capitalize on the holiday party market, with space available for private parties and events. The space has a 1,000 square foot dance floor, options for bottle service and flexible seating arrangements, and an overall capacity of 250. With club seating and leather furniture, a color scheme of black, silver and electric blue, water feature, sleek and modern lighting, and a dedicated commitment to providing a fun yet sophisticated environment to patrons, Fusion is set to put Fort Collins on the map when it comes to the nightclub scene and move us beyond college clubs and outdoor festivals; we’re becoming a city, one new business at a time, and we’re ready to embrace the future of nightlife along the Front Range.
