MATTHEW BARTMANN

In just a few weeks—on September 3, 2017, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.—this hayfield will be bustling with the family-friendly Mountain Festival, a popular annual fundraiser of the Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department. Great food, music, plant sale, book sale, bake sale, local crafts, jewelry, clothing, and gifts, and kids’ activities will await at mile marker 12 on Rist Canyon Road, across from the fire station. Free parking, free admission…and free ice cream! Before all the fun, though, it’s make hay while the sun shines.
