State Historical Fund to host grant workshop at Buckeye Community Center

History Colorado’s State Historical Fund staff will travel to Buckeye Community Center off W. County Road 80 on July 22 to work with potential grant applicants to help strengthen their applications. SHF conducts two grant rounds a year and is one of the nation’s most successful historic preservation grant programs.

Since 1993, SHF has awarded more than $265 million in grant funding to projects in all 64 counties of Colorado. The community roundtables are open to anyone seeking funding for a historic preservation project.

“SHF is a state-sponsored program dedicated to providing nonprofits and municipalities with the educational and financial resources they need in order to preserve historic sites,” said Cynthia Nieb, deputy director of the State Historical Fund. “Our staff understands that the grant application process can be daunting, and we’re here to help make the process easier.”

The next application deadline is October 1. This year, the SHF competitive grant application will be online only. Whether applicants have applied before or are new to the process, the community roundtables will provide helpful tips about the new online application process, answer questions and give guidance for preparing a competitive application.

Roundtables are free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. For more information or to RSVP, contact Kristi Roberts at [email protected] or 303-866-3493.
