HIGH ON LOVE

| by HOLLY HIGHLIFE |

Do you feel a little frisky after catching a buzz? You’re not alone! Ancient Indian texts are filled with images of sex and smoking. More recently, Serbian women would make a cannabis paste to heighten the experience for young women on their wedding nights.
If you need a little something special for your Valentine some new products are right on target. A new strain called “Sexxpot” to enhance the experience was just developed in California, while Foria, a cannabis lube, is flying off shelves in Fort Collins.
“We definitely sell a lot of Foria. Customers are really upset when we run out, so we try not to let that happen,” says Maka Kala’i, Director of Marketing and Sales for Organic Alternatives. He also sees many repeat customers. “We were the rst ones to have it around here, and we were getting requests before it even arrived.”
Wrapped like an elegant little bottle of perfume, Foria was speci cally developed
to enhance women’s pleasure. (Yes!) To remain objective, I quizzed Cara, a 33-year-old budtender at OA, about her experiences with the spray lube for your lady parts.
“It’s pretty amazing! What I really like is that it is a natural product based in coconut oil.
It never gets tacky or sticky.” Foria contains THC and requires 15 to 30 minutes to take
full e ect. “It’s really good for a warm-up.”

Foria does not make you feel high. “You are just more relaxed and comfortable, and it definitely intensifies orgasms.
“It’s like a day at the beach for the ladies,” Cara exclaims in a saucy voice. She then turns serious and addresses the medical problems that can make sex painful. “I’ve been in medical menopause since my early 20’s. It’s fantastic for lessening pain, and there is no numbing sensation.”
There is one- important note about Foria. “It cannot be used with latex condoms.” This is worth repeating: The coconut oil will cause condoms to fail and degrade other latex
toys. Fortunately, polyurethane condoms like Lifestyle SKYN and Trojan Supra are widely available. Because the THC is absorbed into the body, it can also cause a positive result on a drug test.
“If it’s good for women, it is certainly a good thing for men which is why they are buying it for their partners,” says Kala’i.
So what about owers for your love? Two of High Times’ “Ten Best Strains for Sex,” Blue Cheese and Flo, sold by OA are great options. Flo is a favorite of Kala’i. “It’s fairly active and energetic but also relaxing. He also is a fan of the strain “Love Triangle.” Cara has her favorite too. “Tange is a great strain for sex.”
In the state of Colorado it is legal to gift cannabis flowers and products to others. It is illegal to sell those products to others.  Although many consider cannabis an aphrodisiac, there can be too much of a good thing! Some people find too big a buzz makes them unable to perform or it simply puts them to sleep. This could explain why Sexxpot has a lower level of THC (around 14%.) Ironically, this is about the same high users gained from weed in the 1970’s and ‘80’s.
The late astronomer and author Carl Sagan, who used cannabis for most of his adult life, wrote that pot, “enhances the enjoyment of sex.”
He continued, “On the one hand it gives an exquisite sensitivity, but on the other hand it postpones orgasm: in part by distracting me with the profusion of images passing before my eyes.” Talk about “billions and billions of stars!”
Finally, if you’re buying for your Valentine, don’t forget the chocolate. OA carries a number of great chocolate edibles. Some customer favorites are the truffles on the recreational side and the Affagato Bar on the medical side of the store. Kala’i says the store plans a number of specials for the holiday.
Armed with this information, I wish you a great Valentine’s Day. Maybe my cupid will show up with new treats for me!
