Folks who would like to learn to square dance may head to Glacier View Meadows on Sept. 7 for a free introduction. The event, which takes place at 6:30 p.m. at Glacier View Meadows Gate 8, also includes a free ice cream social.

The Ponderosa Promenaders of Livermore, sponsors of the event, also offer square dancing lessons. Beginning Sept. 14, a new round of lessons will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $65 per person, and family rates are available. No partner is necessary.
