Larimer County Bar Association offers free legal assistance to residents affected by High Park Fire

A toll-free legal helpline for those affected by the High Park fire in Larimer County has been made available by the Colorado and Larimer County Bar Associations.

People with nonemergency, legal questions related to the fire may call 800-332-6736. Callers will leave their information, including name, contact information, and the nature of their legal issue or question, and will be contacted by an attorney within 48 hours to answer questions or to refer them to a legal aid organization.

“We feel it is important to assist our friends in the community and ensure that when tragic events like this arise, we as lawyers can help ease some of the fear and stress surrounding what happens after the fire,” said Larimer County Bar Association President John Duval. “We hope this helpline will be one step in aiding those affected by the fire to rebuild and move on.”

Attorneys will assist with questions related to issues such as property loss, insurance claims, landlord-tenant issues, replacing wills and other important legal documents, and consumer protection matters.
