Larimer County volunteers make a difference

The results are in for the 13th annual United Way of Larimer County’s Make A Difference Day event. During the week-long event, more than 2,700 volunteers completed nearly 100 volunteer projects around Larimer County – 900 of those volunteers were youth.

Make A Difference Day 2012 showcased collaboration of volunteers with local nonprofits and community organizations working on projects including renovating childcare classrooms, hosting Halloween events and assembling quilts for veterans.

“The resulting impact is more than $240,000 worth of volunteer hours invested in the community,” said United Way volunteer director Adam Molzer. “We want to thank all of the community members who participated in Make A Difference Day this year, and a special thanks to our 2012 sponsors. Without everyone coming together, Make A Difference Day would not be possible!”

United Way of Larimer County’s Volunteer Center coordinates and matches volunteers to projects every day. To find local volunteer opportunities or to find out how to get involved with Make a Difference Day 2013, please visit unitedwayoflarimercounty.org.
