SHATTERPROOF – PAPER HOUSE EP

4.5 out of 5
Going through Shatterproof’s catalog of material leading up to their new EP release, Paper House, it is clear that this is a band that has found its footing, discovered exactly what their signature sound is, and they are penning songs that are feeding their ravenous fan base. Opening with “Cookie Cutter Life,” we are invited into the world of Shatterproof by a haunting, circus-like introduction that is followed by the unique timing and sucker punch delivery this band is known for; they hit fast and hard and thread eloquent and mysterious threads in between. “Karma” follows the rst track and is a slicing verbal rash of responses to betrayal and a love gone awry. Lastly, “Lykos” finishes off the EP and brings the release full circle. Shatterproof is the cocktail mixed from dark, emotional observations blended with elegant melodies and a erce, full throttle splash of rock sensibility. Full of fresh melodies, yet the sound that fans adore about this rising act, Shatterproof prove that when you combine a deep understanding of instrumentation and lyrical prowess, pair these with stellar production, you have a product worth of praise and mass appeal.
