Sheriff's deputies nab 237 during '100 Days of Heat'

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies in conjunction with the Larimer County DUI Task Force arrested 237 people for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and driving under the influence of drugs (DUID) during this summer’s 100 Days of Heat campaign sponsored by the Colorado Department of Transportation. The 100 Days of Heat campaign ran from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Eighteen people were arrested for DUI or DUID during the most recent enforcement period over the Labor Day weekend. This includes arrests both from checkpoints and saturation patrols. In addition to the 18 arrests during the Labor Day weekend, there were 44 arrests during the Memorial Day and July 4th holiday periods as well.

While the Labor Day weekend marked the end of CDOT’s 100 Days of Heat campaign for this year, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office will continue with checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout the year.
