Wellington Senior Center offers September activities

Fall is in the air, and the cooler air is welcome.

The following is the schedule of events for September at the Wellington Senior Center.

Sept. 2: SALT meeting, 10 a.m. We will also celebrate the September birthdays.

Sept. 5: The senior center will be closed for Labor Day.

Sept. 6: The bus will take seniors to the Abbey of St. Walburga for lunch and a tour.

Sept. 7: Blood pressure checks by Elderhaus in Fort Collins, 11 a.m. to noon.

Sept. 9: We will play bunko after lunch, from 1 to 4 p.m. Anyone in the community is welcome to join us.

Sept. 10: Wellington Days. We will have a table of items and baked goods for sale in the park.

Sept. 12: Membership meeting, 10:30 a.m. Members are encouraged to attend.

Sept. 15: The bus will take seniors to play miniature golf, 9:30 a.m.

Sept. 20: We will go to the T-Bar Inn for lunch.

Sept. 29: We will play bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring snacks to share and a while elephant gift. People in the community are welcome to join us.

Every Wednesday, the Four Star Band plays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Anyone is welcome to come and enjoy the music.

We continue to collect cans, so please keep us in mind and drop them off at the senior center.

We are considering taking community members to Fort Collins on the bus twice a month on Thursdays for doctor appointments and shopping. For more information, please call Trudy at 970-817-2293.

Meals are served each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. Meals are also delivered to the homebound. If you would like to join us for lunch, please call the Volunteers of America the day before, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., at 970-472-9630.
