Wellington Senior Center update

Summer is in full swing, and I hope everyone is enjoying this time. The following is the schedule of events for August at the Wellington Senior Center.

Community Message

Aug. 1: Membership meeting, 10:30 a.m.
Aug. 3: Blood pressure checks from 11 a.m. to noon. The band will also play between 10:30 a.m. and noon. Come and enjoy the music.
Aug. 5: SALT meeting with the Sheriff’s Department.
Aug. 11: We will go to the Gardens on Spring Creek in Fort Collins. The bus will leave the center at 10 a.m.
Aug. 12: Bunko from 1 to 4 p.m. If you would like to play, please call Trudy at 817-2293.
Aug. 16: The seniors will go up the Poudre Canyon for a picnic. Each member will bring his or her own lunch, and the bus will leave the center at 10 a.m.
Aug. 25: Bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. Please bring a white elephant gift and snacks to share.

Meals are served each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. Meals are also delivered to the homebound. If you would like to join us for lunch, please call the Volunteers of America at 970-472-9630 the day before the meal, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Plans are being made to take the bus to Fort Collins twice each month, on Thursdays, for doctor appointments and shopping. People in the community may also participate. For more information, please call Trudy.

For more information about activities at the senior center, call Trudy at 970-817-2293 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. We continue to collect pop cans, so please keep us in mind and drop them off at the senior center. Thanks to those who have brought cans in the past.
