FORTOBERFEST

Downtown Fort Collins’ newest annual tradition is here again – get ready for FORToberfest on Saturday, September 19! This fall festival tips its hat to the end of summer in a strictly Fort Collins-like fashion on the streets of Old Town. Instead of serving up sauerkraut and polka music, FORToberfest instead pays homage to the place where we live with a relaxed “backyard” atmosphere, open-air street patios and live music throughout the day.

No doubt, Fort Collins loves its “3 B’s”: Bikes, Bands and Beer! FORToberfest is a celebration of the city’s rich music scene, accomplished history of beer brewing, and award-winning bicycle culture as cherished characteristics of the Downtown area and the region as a whole.

In fact, bike-riding attendees will receive a free pint of beer, courtesy of Odell Brewing Company or High Country Beverage Distributors. Since being named an esteemed Platinum Friendly Bicycle Community in 2013, the City has continued its efforts to partner with local organizations to further instill bicycling as a way of life and viable (and fashionable!) mode of transportation. From pedaling tours of the City to the Tour de Fat, bicycles are a fabric of life here in Fort Collins.

We are also hailed as a mecca for live music in the Rocky Mountain West, with public spaces that pulse with performances (and even hand-painted pianos)! Carrying on the musical tradition of festivals such as Bohemian Nights @ NewWestFest and the Colorado Brewers’ Festival, the FORToberfest Main Stage entertainment starts at 11:00 am and rolls through 10:00 pm, featuring over half a dozen of Northern Colorado’s finest performers at the intersection of Walnut and Mathews Streets.

And don’t forget about the beer! Beer and life in Fort Collins pair perfectly together, and at FORTobefest, you can mix and match your own custom-made taster tray. We’ve invited every brewery in Fort Collins to come downtown and share their seasonal autumn creations: $6.00 for a pint, or $6.00 for a “make-your-own taster tray” of four-4oz servings from any of the local participating breweries.

On September 19th, grab a seat at the outdoor beer garden and celebrate living in the FORT!
