Robert Wilson Blues Band – 45 RPM

Robert-Wilson-Blues-Band
Meet Robert Wilson and his quartet of fellow bluesmen. Wilson’s Fort Collins-based band is something simple and comfortable, providing an easy-going sound perfect for the summer porch. Wilson, guitarist Joe Schicke and pianist Jimmy Mangan trade off on the songwriting and vocal responsibilities, allowing one another to showcase their “100 years of combined musical experience” on the group’s latest release, 45 RPM. A passion for the blues and New Orleans’ R&B is prominent throughout the record, with laid-back covers of blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson (“Have You Ever Been In Love”) and New Orleans piano great Professor Longhair (“Cry To Me”). Robert Wilson and company encourage blues musicians and fans alike to join them Thursday nights at Colorado Feed & Grain for a weekly blues jam. Watch out for the band during this summer’s Fort Collins Old Town Square Concert Series.
