State House races at attract fresh talent

Some fresh faces are competing for the local house state of representative seats long held by Democrats determined to maintain their majority.

Incumbent Democrat Joann Ginal is seeking reelection to the House 52 seat encompassing parts of unincorporated Larimer County as well as central and eastern Fort Collins. A former professor, she has worked more than 20 years as a scientist in the pharmacological field.

Republican Donna Walter is challenging Ginal. A naturopathic doctor, she has worked in the natural wellness field 27 years.

Democrat Jeni Arndt is seeking the House 53 seat generally encompassing western Fort Collins. She has a diverse background primarily focused on education and literacy.

Also seeking the seat is Republican Tim Bessler. A Fort Collins resident since 2002, he is a software architect and data analyst.
