Fort Collins Nursery hosts fundraiser and gardening-tool drive for The Growing Project

Fort Collins Nursery will be hosting a fundraising sale and gardening-tool drive for The Growing Project. This local nonprofit is dedicated to supporting community gardens, connecting people with growing their own food and contributing to the Larimer County Food Bank. They’re in need of new and used garden tools so, from Aug. 25 to Sept. 3, Fort Collins Nursery will accept donations of tools for The Growing Project. Jim’s Sharpening is donating his services to put a nice edge on donated tools.

The Growing Project will offer a hands-on Fairy or Dinosaur mini-garden box for kids to plant and take home with them from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Sept. 1 to 3.

And come out to Fort Collins Nursery for the biggest sale of the year:
• Aug. 25 -Aug. 31, 30 percent off select items
• Sept. 1 & 2, 40 percent off select items
• Sept. 3, Labor Day, the discount goes up again to 50 percent off select items
• Check out our “Discount Ally” for additional savings on scratch-n-dent items. On Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 3 The Growing Project will be running the “Discount Ally,” where proceeds from those sales go to the nonprofit.

Fort Collins Nursery’s hours are:
• 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday
• 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sun., Sept. 2 & Mon., Sept. 3 (Labor Day)
